By using user types, you can restrict the master management menu operations that administrators can operate.
For example, you can set more flexible permissions for system administrators who previously could perform all operations, such as an administrator who cannot edit user information but can create surveys.
For each menu item, select the type of users who can operate it and click "Update."
If you do not select anything, all users with administrator privileges will be able to operate it, just like v3.4 and earlier.
There is no need to set up this function unless you want to separate the master data management menu functions for each user.
Please carefully consider the design of access permissions to master data and create the corresponding user types.
We recommend a design that does not allow multiple user types to be set for any given user.
Please make sure to manage appropriately within your company, such as by creating a matrix of the master data management menu available to each user type.
To set this up, you will need to use the Master Management Menu Display Settings function as well as the User Type Editing function.
Using the user type editing function, create a user type classification name "For master management menu display settings" and a user type name "Full permissions holder."
Register users who can use all menus as targets of the user type name "Full permissions holder."
From the master management menu display settings, select "Full permissions holder" in the "User basic information management" menu and click update.
Confirm that "User basic information management" is displayed to "Full permissions holder" users.
From the master management menu display settings, select "Full permissions holder" for all menus and click update.
*If you do not properly configure the target users in step 2 and then perform step 5, the Master Management menu will not be visible to anyone. Please make sure that "Full authority" users can indeed use the Master Management menu by following steps 3 and 4.
When setting up the master data management menu display individually, we recommend not assigning multiple user types to a single user.
This is to avoid complicated confirmation when canceling settings, such as excluding who from which user type.
Specifically, create user types for specific departments (groups) that will be allowed to use specific master data management functions.
If there are only a small number of users that require settings, it is also effective to create a user type for each user.
*User types are also used as search conditions. If you do not want user types to appear in search conditions, control this using the viewing permissions for user type classification.
From the user type editing function, add a user type name to the user type classification name "For master management menu display settings". In this case, add a user type of "Survey management department".
Register users who you want to allow to manage surveys for the target of the user type name "Survey management department".
From the master management menu display settings, select "Survey management department" as the menu to which you want to grant permissions and click update. Here, you will set the menus for "Survey template editing" and "Survey group management".
